News from Redding

Work's going well, my new boss is cool, I went river rafting on Saturday, I started volunteering at the PBS TV station today, I just got back from the PBS radio station, they interviewed a guy who's putting on an international film festival in Mt. Shasta next weekend, the woman/host was nice, it was sort of like they were trying to recruit me into radio (engineering shows mostly) but watching them do it really turned me off. it's like KDVS part two, but only the weekend people, and flakier. An even wierder aftertaste. River rafting was really great, it was so scenic and clean and beautiful, I couldn't believe it. But the people I was with were pretty wierd, they were joking and laughing a lot, but it was like watching a sitcom where the audience is laughing but you don't really know why it's not funny. I think they were too Christian. Catholicism seems a lot more understated and private compared to that... whoo hoo Catholicism!

Yeah, Christianity is too gung-ho for me, my parents are all too eager to take me to church when I visit so I can meet someone there and get married and have little Christian babies. So I always say "no thanks" and sleep in till 11:30 or noon.

I don't know if Catholicism is any less in-your-face than Christianity though. Maybe it just depends what part of the world you live in.

Other then the "sense" I get about the difference, and my "experience" with "people", I have no idea what I'm talking about...
